Description: To introduce personal experience of how to backup Blu-ray/DVD movie on a hard drive and the way ripping Blu-ray/ DVD to mp4 video file for streaming, so that we can
freely get our favorite BD/DVD films playable.
Collecting best and new released DVDs has been my hobby. I have a large box full of DVD's and Blu-Rays that I want to have available on my laptop and archived on a hard drive and ideally presented through some form of media streamer. My Target is watching movies when I'm away on business. I will watch them via a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop to TV using HDMI, when I feel like it!
P.S. Now, our household has 1 x iMac, 2 x iPad, 3 x iPhone, 2 x iPod, 1 x MacBook Pro & 1 x Toshiba Laptop. Used for business and pleasure.
I did a lot of researches online and finally got this SW named Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper (Windows based); it has a simple yet very easy-to-use UI, and has a large output list that supports various formats. The most important thing is it accepts my every disc, which DVD-Copy, Handbake and Mac The Ripper couldn't. MakeMKV did not have any of the features as Pavtube. I used Aiseesoft, but it took stupid amount of hours to rip. MKV.
To get started you need to download and install Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper:
Pavtube softwares are all lifetime and after you get them you could enjoy the update and support all the time.
Once Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper is installed, load it up and click the load file icon:
Next is choosing corresponding output format for playback on laptop or TV. Select "Common Video > MPEG-4 Movie(*.mp4)" under "Format" bar.
You can also choose the corresponded profile for your own devices. Pavtube supports hundreds of different media types e.g. iPhone, Apple TV etc.
1. If you only need the main movie onto hard drive in the DVD, choose the “Copy > Directly Copy” format to only convert the main content so that saving your conversion time and storage space.
2. As an optional step you can adjust the video encoder, frame rate, resolution, etc according to your own needs. For my own experience, I feel that the original settings play perfect.
Note: If you have the same needs as mine: force subtitle, just choose the language of subtitles and then check the "Forced subtitle".
The final step need to do is click the "Convert" button to start the conversion for Blu-ray to the format that can be played on laptop or tv. For convert a Blu-ray movie, the conversion time may be a little longer. Just wait for the conversion process to get done.
That's it! You have created the videos can be played on lapto or be streamed to TV via HDMI with no issue what so ever.
Convert and put Blu-ray ISO to iPhone 5C on Mac
